What I Wore Today

These posts are small snapshots of myself as I’m leaving the house (usually in a rush), but just gives you some idea of the things I like to wear:

Yesterday was my five weekly visit to the hairdresser (my favourite).

I  had just picked up my new makeup kit from Emani, so I can start to offer Special Occasion Makeup and Makeup Lessons and Workshops.

I arrived at my hairdresser Minogue sans makeup.  I did a before and after shot, using the new Emani makeup which I spread all over the bench in front of me and proceeded to apply while Hayley did my hair.  It was a real chick fix. No champagne though 😦

I had never used the Emani range before, but it is divine and easy to use.  It lasted on my skin all day.  I love the colours which are soft and natural looking.  Best of all, it is chemical free, organic and good for your skin. Read About it here. It was developed by Michelle Doan who suffered with acne.  I have very dry skin (especially in winter) and the product was dewy without being shiny.

Gold Biker Jacket and bling top – Charlie Brown

(The top spells out ‘NICE’, I bought one in black as well that says ‘NAUGHTY’ for when I’m feeling a bit cheeky)

Khaki motorbike jean – Country Road

Boot – Shubar from Hype

Watch – you guessed it – my fav from DKNY

After – ready to face the world

Hair by the Amazing Hayley from Minogue

I love Nautical Colours and Stripes!

Striped jacket

Jacket: Sass.  Pants:  Country Road black stretch.  Ballet Flats: Midas.  Plain Black T-shirt: Sportscraft.  Watch: DKNY

Bobbi Brown Coral Pink lipstick

I wore a coral-pink lippy so my face kept up with the intensity of black and white.

Coral is a great colour that has intensity without being too harsh.  Often if you can’t wear red, you can wear coral as a substitute.

And here is another idea for stripes, but using the traditional navy and white theme, which is easy to mix with classic accessories, such as the pearl studs, navy bag and red/navy neckerchief.  This is such a good basic canvas to mix and match different accessories to either dress it up or down.  It is  understated and classy and can take you anywhere.

Bring on Spring!

Top and Pants: Sportscraft;  Bag: Fossil;  Shoes: Vans ‘Authentic’;  Sunglasses: Ray Bans Havana Wayfarer;  Belt:  Esprit

These Vans Sneakers will be my next purchase!

If this left you wanting more, call me to arrange a personal shopping trip.  See My Services for more details.

Shopping Trip

Here is what I chose to wear to go clothes shopping with my son.  I love this new shirt from Sportscraft, the crisp blue and white is always fresh.  A red scarf brings a pop of colour, the pearls add length and a touch of femininity to complete the look.

IMG_1645A visit to the podiatrist.  White jeans (Country Road), Sherpa Vest (Sussan) flats (Midas)

IMG_1646A wide belt with aluminium silver buckle completes the look and balances out my waist (also gives some tummy control)

IMG_1735Running errands around town on an overcast day, I chose my favourite cherry red wool scarf, red shoes (Witchery) and red watch (DKNY) to go with basic corduroy jacket (Sportscraft), striped top (David Lawrence) and skinny khaki jeans (Country Road).  This outfit was easy to wear, warm and comfortable.  Red accessories give lift to an otherwise dull palette of neutrals, and always gives my mood a lift, especially when the sky is grey too.
